Writing at Robin Hood

Hi, I’m Mrs Blackburn - the writing lead at Robin Hood Primary School and a Key Stage Two writing moderator for the local authority. I studied English at university for three years before deciding to complete my teaching degree and bring the passion I have for writing to children. 

To me, writing is central to everything we do and is the key to future success- no matter what you want to achieve in the future, it is guaranteed that writing will be an important part of that. Writing allows us to express ourselves- we can be creative, we can write to reflect our emotions, we can use it to tell people who we are. It unlocks each child’s true potential and allows them to express their understanding of every aspect of our curriculum, and indeed, our world. It is my passionate belief that by equipping our children with the ability to write, we give them the tools to succeed in life no matter what path they choose.
